Do you have a MacBook Pro and plan to travel soon?

If you have a 15-inch MacBook Pro, you need to take a few minutes before your next fight to do a quick check so you aren’t held up by TSA at the airport.

In a limited number of older generation 15-inch MacBook Pro laptops, Apple has found that the battery may overheat, causing a fire safety risk. Affected systems were sold primarily between September 2015 and February 2017.

For safety reasons, Apple has voluntarily decided to replace affected batteries, free of charge.

Due this recall, affected Macs are banned by the FAA from being carried aboard an aircraft.

HOW TO CHECK IF YOU ARE AFFECTED BY THIS RECALL

To find out if your battery needs to be replaced, you will need your Mac serial number.

Here is how to find your serial number: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204308

Once you have it, go the the following page and enter your serial number under the Eligibility section: Macbook Pro Battery Recall

If you are affected, follow the instructions on the page to get your battery replaced.

Otherwise, have a safe trip!!!
